Relação entre fatores domésticos e asma em universitários
Resumo
A asma é uma doença que continua a aumentar e é uma causa de incapacitação. Sua origem é multifatorial, o que complica o seu estudo e os gastos financeiros gerados pelo seu tratamento somam bilhões de dólares. Devemos considerar que esta doença não é exclusiva da infância,
já que os jovens, muitas vezes, ao estarem expostos a substâncias em suas casas, podem desenvolvêla, o que resulta em deterioração da qualidade de vida. Neste estudo, foram entrevistados 361 jovens universitários de três programas acadêmicos em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior em Barranquilla, com o objetivo de determinar quais fatores poderiam desencadear a doença. Na análise
estatística, foram realizados o teste Qui-quadrado, valor de p e Odds ratio. Os resultados indicaram que os fatores que provavelmente poderiam predispor ao desenvolvimento da asma são: uso de detergentes, emoções intensas e exposição ao fumo.
