The european constitution: the first attempt of the union to consolidate its constitutional structure
Abstract
The European integration process has always been the model to follow for States interested in uniting to obtain a mutual benefit. This situation has led the European Union to one of its highest and, in some way decisive points for its future: the real political consolidation expressed in a constitutional text. For this reason, it is very important to determine the legal and political scope that the European Constitution will have, when the text is ratified by all the members and adopting or not, the name of Constitution. Keeping this in mind, the work that is being carried out by the Investigation Line “The European Constitution: Analysis of its legal and political nature”, which belongs to the PIREO Investigation Group, tries to understand the relevance of this constitutional text and its future consequences, not only for Europe, but for all the States that follow the European integration example. For this reason, in this work we analyze the main aspects of the way in which the European necessities were summarized in a single text, its scope, and which its structure has been until now.
