Notes on the impact by BRIC and affairs between Colombia and Brazil
Abstract
The reframe of a geopolitical matrix that structured the power affairs in the foreign context for almost half a century after the World War II involves a reassessment of many analytical assumptions used to analyze phenomena, such as globalization, role of the states, impact of Neo-liberalism, and foreign affairs, among others. During 2001 in this scenario, the economist Jim O’Neill used the acronym BRIC to refer to a group of states made up by Brazil, Russia, India and China. These countries were compared in terms of territory, economy and socio-political conditions as well as population, generating new dynamics in business relations that currently are a result of new scenarios in the foreign system. Brazil is the only state from Latin America in BRIC. Nevertheless, it is important to analyze the involvement of this group and also approaching affairs between Colombia and Brazil.Downloads
