Abstract

This document shows how it has been the behavior of the poverty in Chile and Colombia. The objective of the study is to analyze, to compare and to determine in that magnitude the increase of the poverty, has been influenced by population, expenses, inflation and degree economic opening, in each one of these countries. In order to find the relation between the different exposed coefficients, a model of linear regression considers, in which the influence of the considered coefficient is evaluated and determined. For Chile, one is that the opening has generated increases in the poverty, which have been balances by the increases in the expensive and the diminution of the inflation. In Colombia, the opening also has generated increases in the poverty, but the internal policy, has not managed to diminish this impact.
