Industrial Aglomeration in Bogotá City
Abstract
Industrial agglomeration is one of the factors that promote economic growth in the countries. The present work shows some empirical results in order to determine the existence of industrial agglomerations in Bogotá together with jointed areas. The methodology used is based on industrial agglomeration model “dartboard” presented by Ellison and Glaeser (1997). For that purpose, microdata was taken for 2005 from Manufacture Annual Survey (EAM) of National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), under an industry defini- tion base on third 3-digit review of aggregation of Uniform International Industrial Classification (CIIU). The results show that in average it is not possible to mention a great industrial agglomeration in Bogotá city.
