Emotional and social learning: Teaching and contributing to integral education

Abstract

This article offers some reflections on the possibilities that are offered by the development of emotional and social learning at different educational levels, and what their contributions are to the construction of a curricular, pedagogical and didactic proposal oriented towards the integral formation of students. The reference point is an educational policy from the Ministry of Education of the Córdoba Province (Argentina). First of all, the general framework of this policy and its objectives are presented and some key concepts are explained. Next, the articulation between the proposed development of fundamental skills and emotional and social learning is presented. Finally, some curricular, pedagogical and didactic details are made for the development of social learning in schools and in the classroom, and some particular guidelines for working in the different levels of the educational system are also considered.
