The ICI is assessed regarding bit error rate (BER) at 16-Gbaud and 32-Gbaud, as a function of several system parameters. Compensation of nonlinear impairments based on digital backpropagation algorithm is implemented in the DSP-based coherent receiver. The results demonstrated that ICI due to channels overlapped has a higher impact concerning BER than the optical fiber’s nonlinear impairments. Besides, the use of the backpropagation algorithm improves the system performance, reducing up to 3 and 0.7 orders of magnitude of BER in QPSK and 16QAM cases, respectively. In this proposal, the multilayer perceptron feed-forward artificial neural network with backward propagation was trained under the secant method (one-step secant) and was selected according to mean square error measurement. The proposal optimizes the parameters of the FBG such as center frequency, rejection level and length in order to determine a filtering response based on a reduced number of FBGs used to flatten the non-linear response of the amplifier gain. This relation between input variables, the factors, and the output variable as it is the compressive design strength can be obtained by using an artificial neural model, which has characteristics of self-adapting, self-study and nonlinear mapping. An application of a radial basis function artificial neural model is presented in this paper. Compressive design strengths of steel fiber reinforced concrete endured mixes with diverse proportioning was predicted and compared with the experimental measured results. The predicted values were analyzed by R lineal correlation factor. El desarrollo de modelos bidimensionales empleados en la Metodología Incremental de Caudal en la Corriente (IFIM), ha permitido representar el hábitat utilizable para las especies de interés. En México en el año 2012 se publicó la norma mexicana, que establece el procedimiento para la determinación del caudal ecológico, en su apéndice normativo E considera la simulación ecohidráulica. El objetivo de este estudio es generar las simulaciones hidráulicas combinadas con las curvas de idoneidad de hábitat de peces en el Río Ayuquila-Armería, para determinar el Hábitat Potencial Útil, y considerar las series en el tiempo del régimen hidrológico actual. Para generar las simulaciones ecohidráulicas, se selección un tramo de río aguas abajo de la confluencia del río Ayuquila y Tuxcacuesco, se realizaron tres campañas de campo para medir los parámetros de profundidad, velocidad y sustrato dentro del río. Para simular el hábitat ecohidráulico se usó la plataforma FaSTMECH dentro del software iRIC 1.5, se calibraron y validaron las simulaciones. Como resultado, se obtuvieron simulaciones a diferente caudal y su variabilidad de hábitat potencial útil para cada una de las especies seleccionadas, además, se definió el Hábitat Potencial Útil para las series en el tipo del régimen hidrológico actual. The spatial and temporal variability at the annual and monthly scale of the sediments was analyzed, showing a marked difference during the two climatic seasons (of rain and drought) both in the concentration and in the direction of the sedimentation plume. The best model applied to the images for the recovery of the TSS was the polynomial functional form of grade 3 that relates the sedimentation with the reflectance of band 2 applied in the MYD09 images. Among the results obtained, it is found that there are annual average values higher than 100mgL-1 in El Rotico Bay due to the contributions given by the Atrato River in the El Roto mouth and high sediment concentration in Bahia Colombia during the first quarter of the year mostly because of the direction of the winds. The research allows us to show the benefits of digital image processing to retrieve ocean color data such as sedimentation, in order to obtain relevant results that allow an analysis of the sedimentation flows within the gulf, especially because it is constituted a place of ecological importance for its great marine biodiversity and where knowledge of the dynamics and concentration of sediments is scarce.</p> 2019-06-20T09:54:34-05:00 Derechos de autor 2019 Ciencia e Ingeniería Neogranadina https://revistas.unimilitar.edu.co/index.php/rcin/article/view/3701 Numerical simulation of an acoustic tube 2019-06-20T10:40:20-05:00 Jorge Mauricio Ruiz Vera jmruizv@unal.edu.co Leonardo Vásquez Martínez lvazquezm@unal.edu.co <p>In this work, we introduce a staggered finite difference method to analyze and simulate the generation and behavior of sound waves inside a tube. We describe a special numerical treatment on the boundary conditions which model reflection and transmission phenomena by means of the acoustic impedance concept. Through an exhaustive sampling of frequencies and the fast Fourier transform (FFT) a modal analysis is performed when the air inside the tube is subjected to both harmonic and random disturbances. Finally, we analyze the quality factor behavior of the acoustic system to confirm its exponential character as well as its dependence on the acoustic impedance.&nbsp; The results show the utility of the method in the acoustic phenomena simulation such as reflection, transmission, dissipation of sound waves and resonance in bounded domains. In that sense, this document presents a literature review of some regions worldwide, to highlight the research initiatives around the study of energy complementarity. This review includes studies about establishing the complementarity of solar, wind and water resources, and includes demand, electricity prices, etc. Among the results found, it is noted that although several studies conducted around the world have shown that most of the renewable energy production systems has a variable and unpredictable nature, make use of more than one type of renewable energy improves the performance of those systems, it decreases the generation fluctuations and increases the system reliability. Also, it is found that the correlation factor is the most used method for the evaluation of energy complementarity. Other methods include simulations, model application, optimization algorithms, etc. In the same way, the input information for the realization of these studies comes from the registries of the electrical power systems of the countries, from the application of meteorological prediction models, from historical climatological data coming from satellites or from measurements of meteorological stations, among others. In the formulation of the problem are proposed two mathematical models whose objective function is the minimization of the cost of the purchase of electric energy. The first (linear) model includes the purchase of energy and the second (non-linear) considers, in addition to the above, the energy losses of the distribution system. Both mathematical models consider operational restrictions on energy storage and electrical power grid. The proposed methodology can be used by network operators as a strategy for the purchase and sale of energy, additionally is proposed a mathematical tool that can be applied in the operation and planning of distribution systems with energy storage elements.
