A study in two Mexican universities 2019-02-26T14:03:12-05:00 Armando Sánchez-Macías armando.sanchez@uaslp.mx María Guadalupe Veytia-Bucheli maria_veytia@uaeh.edu.mx
The digital competences represent a knowledge, skill and conscience indispensable for the effective development of the subjects in the knowledge society. The objective of this research is to characterize the level of digital competence in PhD students and the sociodemographic variables that can influence it. It is a research with a quantitative, descriptive-correlational, transversal and non-experimental focus. A sample of doctoral students in Administration and Education from two Mexican universities was studied. The Spanish Competences Questionnaire was used, a Spanish version, which was subjected to statistical tests to measure its consistency and internal validity. It was found that doctoral students do not have a higher level of digital competences solely because they belong to this level of education and that sex is not related either. On the other hand, partial evidence was found in several dimensions (statistically significant relationships) that suggest that belonging to a program that is taught remotely involves digital competencies in comparison when studying blended learning (b-learning).
2018-11-01T19:26:16-05:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://revistas.unimilitar.edu.co/index.php/ravi/article/view/3719 Quality virtual higher education concept from discourse analysis the case of policies in Colombia 2019-02-27T20:55:09-05:00 Carolina Sanmiguel Ruiz carolinasanmiguelruiz@gmail.com Lorena Yadira Alemán de la Garza lorena.aleman@itesm.mx Marcela Georgina Gómez Zermeño marcela.gomez@itesm.mx This research paper presents the results of a case study of public policy in Colombia, compared to the conceptualization of the quality of virtual higher education. Through discourse analysis of a corpus selected from official documents, the study seeks to answer the question, what has the quality of virtual higher education meant for the Ministry of National Education of Colombia?, in order to analyze how the processes of conceptualization, management, and evaluation of the quality of higher education can be strengthened virtual in the country. The results reveal that while the concept of quality of virtual higher education does not exist explicitly in public policy, are perceived certain implicit meanings of the concept and some evaluation mechanisms and quality management, understood mainly from the accreditation and certification, technological development and educational content. 2019-02-24T10:01:05-05:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
